As a behavioral pediatrician, one of the things that I love offering to families is parenting support.

In fact, I used to teach basic child behavior management skills to practicing and future pediatricians from 2006 to 2018 when I was in academia.

Before COVID, I also offered parent training groups at my  private practice based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

But in August 2020, I pivoted and started offering a book club on Facebook!

When COVID-19 hit, I stopped in-person parent training workshops to minimize exposure risk. One day while at home, I looked over to my bookshelf and saw all my parenting books.

What if I could start a parenting book club on social media?

Who doesn't like a good book? However, while you can read a parenting book, it is much more fun to read, try it and reflect on what worked and didn't.

But it can be hard to read to learn when life is hectic. Sometimes you just need some support from others, whenever it fits your schedule.

At the beginning of the year, I announce all upcoming book club picks so that you can plan ahead. You are welcome to join one or all. Readers will HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU GET YOURSELF A COPY OF THE BOOK. You can borrow it from the library, listen to the audiobook version, read it on your kindle, or buy the book from Amazon! (affiliate links)

You'll want to join my exclusive closed Facebook Parenting Discussion Group, so you can bring your questions, comments, reflections or ask for help from other readers! Since February 2021 I have had the pleasure of authors joining me for exclusive book club chats and interviews! You don't want to miss these! These interviews are NOT ON MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL and only available for a limited time in my Facebook group.

Head to my STORE to purchase lifetime access to the member library that will be updated each time I host an author chat (~4 a year).

THAT is where the LEARNING happens! It is when you read and then try something and then learn from how it went. But let’s face it, life is never easy! Instead, it is complicated, messy and hard some times. So sometimes reading something and doing something can be very different. I want to be able to help support you as you read.
